My Dad has Parkinson's and it sucks. In the years we have spent as a family dealing with this disease, we have learned a lot and educational forums like the symposium offered by Sunflower Rev It Up for Parkinson's are invaluable. There is nothing easy about Parkinson's, but the old saying "knowledge is power" sure is true.
My Dad is amazing in his pragmatic acceptance and willingness to live life to the fullest even with his limitations. He has a great social life with many friends in his community, sings in the glee club, philosophizes with other seekers of truth, works out with a personal trainer, but most of his waking hours is spent just doing what most of us take for granted.
I'm fundraising and volunteering for this organization to make a difference in helping people live well, in spite of limitations imposed on them by Parkinson's.
